The office accepts interns four or five times each year. Interns take on research, drafting, the daily business of Parliament, and the office's other research projects.

The internship is in New Delhi, in person, and unpaid, with no stipend of any kind. The minimum term is eight weeks. The office would rather state this plainly now than have it come as a surprise later.

The best hires this office has made have been personality hires and quiet technical people in equal measure, and both are welcome here. The application asks who you are along with what you can do, not just a resume and a page on why you want to work here.

Before you begin: would you describe your attention span as short?

Answer honestly. If yes, the form will provide a video accompaniment on larger screens.

The application requires approximately eight minutes.

Last cycle, about 1,800 people applied for four places. We tell you at the start so you can decide how much of yourself to put into the answers. The ones that read like everyone else's are the easiest to pass over.
